Gasthaus zum Nachen in Schwanau

We had ordered food at Christmas and it was great. There really is nothing wrong with it. The staff was very friendly and responded to requests. Nice to have such a great restaurant in the village. Many Thanks!

Very nice staff, good food and very reasonable prices. The cordon pleu and the rump steak are highly recommended, and the croquettes are also excellent. The ambience could be spiced up a bit, otherwise a quiet place. All in all highly recommended.

We were there for the first time today. Food absolutely great. Portions so big that we (2 adults and 1 child 8 years old) couldn't manage them. Great location, right on a beautiful lake. Wait staff were very polite. What I found very nice was that the cook himself came briefly to the table (with a mask of course) and asked how the food was. I can highly recommend "zum Nachen" and will eat there again. A little hint : Try the garlic cream soup, it's awesome. Thanks for this delicious evening. We will be back.

We hadn't made a reservation, but it would have been possible to get a place for two on the terrace. Unfortunately, the staff was not very flexible. The food we ordered came with the wrong side dish and then we had to wait forever before we could pay. Actually we wanted to order a dessert outside, but decided not to because of the waiting time.

Simple but good. Not a big menu but there is a choice

We are now regulars at the Gasthaus zum Nachen and go there from Freiburg. The food offer and its quality fully meet our high standards. The kitchen and service are very professional and are always friendly and courteous.
